Summer Party with Lõbus Pärastlõuna: “Tervislik toit ja liikumine teeb head”

Location: Eesti Kodu, 50 Old Kingston Rd

Date: Saturday, August 10th, 12:30 doors open, 1pm start

Learn how to make tasty yet healthy food with on-site instruction and sampling. There will also be some light exercise that will keep us in the groove. Singalong. Estonian language event.

Tech best practices talk + general tech help for beginners

Location: St. Peter’s Estonian Evangelical Lutheran Church of Toronto, 817 Mount Pleasant Road

Date: Wednesday, August 14th, 1 pm

Bring your cell phone, tablet or laptop to have general beginner questions answered. Learn what is “swiping” and different types of taping on a contact screen. Our presenter will introduce us to best practices to safely navigate your computer and the internet. Try on a virtual reality headset and see . An Estonian language presentation and workshop.

Talk: Better design (universal design) in public spaces and at home

Krista Mulenok will speak on best practices of good design that is especially beneficial for older adults. This is also called universal design, which benefits all ages through one’s lifespan. Krista is the International Director of the not-for-profit organization Golden League in Estonia. She is also a graduate student at the Tallinn University Haapsalu College, studying with the program “Community Work in an Aging Society”.
